“Thank Goodness for the Webcam!”

Today is a non-working day. I’ll be spending it like the past two days. Staring at the computer doing whatever I can come up with. In the past few months, the net has given me life to some extent. This is due to being in a long distance relationship like I’ve always had. I’m not loving the predicament we are in, in any way, but I love how Kyle and I have dealt with it for the past years.

Kyle and I chat in the morning and in the evening. The time difference has become 12 hours from the 13 hours because of the daylight savings time. We talked about a lot of things we couldn’t really discuss merely through email because of the facial expressions and intonations I so badly need when I’m trying to explain something. I have to be so animated specially when something ticks me off.

Among the many things that piss me off is either of us getting disconnected. There’s this guy in their hotel that hoards the bandwidth. Anyway, because of this, our calls get cut off every so often so we have to call each other up over and over. The problem is on his end.. because of the “hoarder”. Every time, either of us gets unexpectedly disconnected, the video freezes. Last night, I got this one in a million shot that reminded me why Kyle and I are who we are when we are together. Or even when we just text or stare at each other through webcam LOL. He was laughing and I miss the times we would laugh at jokes only he and I can relate to. I become a different person when both of us are together. I cannot imagine being that person with anybody else. It is something very special that we share.

I pressed the print screen button and had to save the shot. I miss him and I would give anything in this world to be able to make him laugh like this till our last sunset.

How far has it gotten me? I actually think it’s gotten me quite far.

Can you imagine a world without computer programmers? Come on, just give it a minute… Can you picture it? Of course some of you can, because it’s hard for people who know little of the people in the background of their “e-run” world, to understand what is going on.

Why am I rambling about this? It’s because I think that Nursing (the course) is overrated. Everybody else who’s not closely informed about our profession thinks Nursing is the remedy to everything. That it is the best course in the world! Yeh,it’s fine that people think it’s a step in making their lives better or making their future brighter in some way. It’s fine really. I hope that they make sure that what they say about what we do for a living won’t make us feel like we’re in the same level as dung. It annoys me how people think like we eat shit for a living hehehe (exag! But sometimes it gets to a point when it feels/sounds/looks that way)

Don’t get me wrong. I have no grudge whatsoever to people who study nursing, or parents who coax their children into taking up nursing. I love everyone in my family that includes, the nurses and those taking up nursing. But some people lang sad, hehehe. I get to thinking, that there are a lot of those who know little about this profession, and needless to say, have little respect for it. Wait, come to think of it, most of those whose faces twitch in abject horror when I tell them what my job is (computer programmer, there’s not use sugar coating it really by saying software design engineer, heck they would understand what I’d be saying) are either not-well-informed people, some baby boomers and etc. you get it, you know how to use the pc, so I bet your able to process that.

I love my job. And everything that goes with it. Not having much of a social life, is just icing on the cake LOL!

BS can mean another thing too. Bullshit.

I realized that I shouldn’t let what they think about what I do bother me so much. It gets into my nerves how they seem to take every chance they get to belittle me L So, one day, well today, I decided, “What the heck shant, BS. That’s all they should sound to you. What they’re saying through their face-twitching is all bull.”

So when somebody says something to bring me down, I say, “BS!” Hmm, I’ll work on telling them to their faces next time ;) Hahaha I’m kidding I’m kidding I’m not that mean. Om shanti …, shanti shanti. :)

Paparoach

Happy Easter everyone! :-) You know they say that Easter is an even bigger event compared to Christmas? I think it may be because; it is the day when Jesus has finally achieved His purpose, which was to become man, and save us from our sin. And today, we celebrate that.

Last night I was woken up by what I felt was a cockroach. My intial reaction was to shoo it away, but when I realized it was a cockroach, I turned on the lampshade and tried to check where it might have gone.

Cockroaches I can stand, but other “house pets” such as mice/rats, lizards (specially the big ones which we call the “toko”) I cannot stand at all. They creep me out!

Anyway, tonight as I was about to turn my pc on, I found the cockroach; I squashed it with my cute dark blue-colored towel slippers. I swept the “remains” of the cockroach and we all know these things are incredibly difficult to obliterate I had to let it drown in alcohol hehehe but its legs were still moving but believe me that dude won’t last very long.

I have something to share to you. I came up with two things that I might want to share to everyone who might stumble upon this poor excuse of a blog hehehe(no oi, i do make sense bya when you really understand my intentions for starting this entire blog).

Tip #1: Many of you may not realize that it is very easy to kill roaches. You may do so by mixing soap of any kind, may it be, dishwashing soap, laundry soap, bath soap and the like with water. Then, you pour this little concoction onto your prey. These little creatures will be goners in no time ;-)

Tip #2: This has nothing to do with roaches or rodents or other pests, but you may find this useful specially when you are trying with all your might to not try to get back at another person because you know that it is not worth your time, and you know that you’d be the better man/woman by controlling your temper. The tip is, before you say anything demeaning or whatever, just imagine that the person you are getting into a fight with or an argument with has some things he/she can blackmail you with. The thought just might keep you from saying things that you just might regret ;-)
